Beth & Steve continued

Beth put so much thought into the little details of her Virginia Beach wedding that we just had to share them with a follow up post. Her guests were entertained by a talented and entertaining caricature artist who engaged them in fun conversation while capturing their expressions on paper.

The guests were then left with a personal memento to take home. Such a great wedding favor and keepsake!
By no means did our bride overlook personalized wedding favors though. In fact, she spent many hours designing and hand crafting the 60+ wedding favors she gave her guests. Check out these unique wedding favors!

Beth had told us she was hand-making the favors, but when we unwrapped them we were absolutely blown away by the thought, detail, and time she had obviously put into each and every one of these candy dishes! How adorable!

Last but not least, we loved the creative spin she put on the traditional guestbook. She gave each of her guests a page to fill out and some bright markers to give it that creative, fun touch.

Thank you Veronica Dana for the fabulous pictures, and thank you Beth and Steve for allowing us to be a part of your fun Virginia Beach wedding!

Beth & Steve

What a fun wedding this was! The couple held a morning Virginia Beach wedding ceremony with 60 of their closest friends and family members in attendance.

The ceremony was adorned with a beautiful bamboo arch, starfish decor, and a ukulele player for that fun island vibe. The bride walked down the aisle to What a Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, the same song the couple later had their first dance to:

The bride opted for a 3 tier cookie cake, and chose a pirate cake for the groom

The bride personally sculpted clay candy dishes for each of her guests that we will showcase in a later blog post. Here's a taste:
While this is most definitely our favorite favor to date, we absolutely fell in love with this adorable "Here comes the bride" sign that adorned the back of the bike her father used to escort her to the ceremony site.

Following the ceremony the bride and groom used the same bike to escape for some photos, and flipped the sign to read "Just Married"

Congrats Beth and Steve! We had a really fun time planning and being a part of your wedding day! We wish you all the best!

Mandy & Shawn

June has brought us some really fun brides, one of which was Mandy. Her ceremony was held on Virginia Beach, and her reception was held at The Cavalier Hotel in the Orion's Room. What an amazing view! Mandy was a very hands-on bride and she took great pride putting her personal touch into many of the wedding details. Take a look at these shells she put together for her ring bearers to carry:

Our favorite personal touch was this adorable and clever little card she made for the cameras:

Okay, and maybe this unique wedding favor-starfish cookies!

We had a wonderful time getting to know this couple and their families. It was a beautiful wedding and we wish the couple all the best!

Missy & Jake

We had the opportunity to do our first out-of-state wedding back in May, and what a great experience it was! Missy and Jake were such a sweet couple to work with that it was well worth the trip to Pennsylvania to be a part of their special day! The ceremony took place at Missy's church in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, and the reception was held at Spyglass Winery in the outskirts of Sunbury, Pennsylvania. What a beautiful venue!

The weather was absolutely perfect, the bride looked stunning, and the guests had a fabulous time! Congratulations Missy and Jake! We hope you enjoyed your two week honeymoon in Fiji!

The Limited Weddings and Events Collection

We are only a few days away from an exciting new launch by The Limited, one of my favorite stores! On June 3rd they will be launching an online collection of bridal and bridesmaid dresses. How exciting! They will be debuting two bridal gowns and two bridesmaid gowns in addition to their highly sought after dresses for your guests.

So let's get down to business. One can only assume that bridal jewelry and hair accessories are sure to follow, right? We can only hope! The Limited sent out an e-mail to their clients with a preview of the launch which also pictured a chic necklace and bracelet set adorned with pearls. Check out their Facebook page for your chance to win!

Let's get to know each other!

Thank you for visiting the blog of As You Wish Weddings and Events! Now let's be honest here.
